This is like the main reason I'm not on hormonal birth control. Not worth it for me. Not in a million years. And I don't even want to know what hormones mess up in your head. I know some people look at me funny for using condoms in a committed relationship, but fuck it, I don't care.

I don't find that weird at all. I'm exactly the same. The prospect of taking hormones for 30+ years has always freaked me out and looking at the side effects some friends told me about, I was like: "lol, nope". I react to medication of any sort with side effects anyway, so why would I risk it? I once took something to ease menstrual pain and it gave me a HUGE rash around my mouth, so I immediately stopped taking it. I would have had to take another for strong periods, but the most common side effect in that one was "vomiting", so I didn't even risk that one and didn't take it at all (emetophobe here).

Years ago I mentioned that on a forum and omg the outcry of married women. "Good luck finding a guy who will have sex with you with a condom" or "Will you have sex with a condom your whole life? That sure doesn't sound like fun"... jfc.

/cool story, sis.

Try the Paraguard IUD! It's made of copper, has no hormones, is 99.9% effective for up to 12 years and can even be used as emergency contraception!
The only drawbacks I can think of is that it may make your periods heavier, and cause cramps/worse cramps, and if you're not in a monogamous relationship, get tested for STIs regularly because leaving one untreated can end very badly. But no hormones!

Hm, I don't know if that'd be ideal for me because I have quite a heavy period with bad cramps already... I'm not really up for having them worse :( That being said, I have nothing against condoms. I don't see what the fuss is even about, because I don't feel them. But for men it's apparently the end of the world or something *shrugs*

On the other hand, if you limit your amount of ovulation, you can significantly reduce your risk of ovarian cancer...

But on the other side, if you have migraines and take BC with estrogen, you're at increased risk of stroke, and progesterone-only pills are less likely to block ovulation.

And then, y'know, other potential symptoms, which vary incredibly wildly between each individual person and pill. There's definitely a lot of pros AND cons to BC pills, so it's totally a personal choice.

Same here. Condoms FTW!

Oh, I'm with you 100%. My real hormones are crazy enough. You think I'm gonna shove some synthetic ones down my throat every day? Been married 10 years and we still use condoms.
