Crossgen was fun! I never really figured out what happened to them, but looking it up on Wikipedia it looks like they massively ran out of money? But I definitely remember enjoying the hell out of them when I was a kid, especially the more fantasy-oriented adventure stuff.

I think the problem might be that, you know, they only really existed for a couple years. I can see that being kind of a hard sell.

I'm curious if that really matters. I can see people maybe not having heard of it because it wasn't around that long but I would think having fewer issues would mean that you're not making as much of a commitment, which means it should be easier to try. *shrugs* It would be sad if this was the case though, as I'm sure then there are a lot of other really great comics out there that people aren't trying.

What titles did you read? Did you have a favorite? Did you real all the way to the end?

I was thinking more that people are less likely to have heard of it to try? And also, they were things that were meant to be ongoing, not one-shots (at least as far as I recall), and I think with things like that with comics there's an element of... investment? I don't know.

This was all when it was coming out and it was a long time ago and I was young. But I remember really, really liking Sojourn and Meridian - I thought both of them had interesting characters and worlds, and both just had a lot of really good clean adventurous fun. And I like that. I also remember liking Ruse a lot, that had some cool stuff. I also think I read Way of the Rat and Scion but I don't think I liked them as much. I don't think I read any of them to the end, though.

What were your favorites, anon?

Sojourn and Ruse were my favorites too. I love LOTR so Sojourn was great for me, and I adored Emma in Ruse. I also liked The First and Mystic. I liked the Greek/Roman pantheon-feel to The First and the magical world they built up in Mystic.

I was surprised how much I liked Sigil and Route 666 and Medieval Lady Death since those usually aren't my thing but they were surprisingly entertaining. I really liked Meridian too. I thought the world was fascinating and I liked how politically savvy Sephie was from the lessons her dad taught her about being a good leader. The only title I still haven't gotten into yet is Scion.

It was sad that CrossGen ended when it did since all the titles were ending anyway to gear up for the big Negation War, which I was really interested to see how that was going to unfold. But, a lot of the titles had a decent wrap-up despite the bankruptcy, which was nice.
