Sherlock and Elementary. In the beginning, I thought Elementary would be a nice Holmesian show with none of Sherlock's sexism, racism, and smugness.

But at this point I think they are both pretty bad, the plots make no sense, the character dynamics make no sense, and the two Irene&Moriarty duos may just be the absolute worst Holmesian characters ever created. Including Tom Baker's and Matt Frewer's portrayals of Holmes.

I reluctantly like Elementary because of Joan. The only reason why I still claim it's as bad as Sherlock is because of what they did to Holmes. Did they even read the Canon or did they just assume House had gotten it right?
I don't mind Irene / Moriarty though, but only because I love Dormer.

I agree, Joan was a damn great character. It's a pity I can't touch the show with a barge pole. I think I'll even stop reading fic now that the latest Mycroft-related plot twist happened.

Don't tell me! I'm still in the beginning of season 2.
Joan is awesome - and she was actually the reason why I dismissed Elementary at first. Now I love her and I can't stand Holmes.
