I think torrenting comics is okay because most of them will never see a TPB and at $2.99 per issue it's far too expensive to be a serious comic reader if you're not a collector.

Comics can be ridiculously expensive even IF you can find them. Well, depending on what you're looking for, but some TPB's are $70+ out of print. (And I'm sure that's the low end. If you want to own something that's extremely old or rare you could easily be spending thousands of dollars. Which is insane.)

I think torrents are much easier too because they often collect everything in one place and again, depending on what you want it can be super frustrating to track everything down. (Hell, I wanted a specific issue of an image comic that I couldn't even find to buy on their website. Like, I googled that shit and searched again and again and it didn't appear to be for sale anymore. I gave up and torrented that shit.)

Torrenting is definitely the only option for comics older than 10 years, too. There are a fuckton of comics from the 80s and early 90s I would not be able to read if not for the MTCDC series.

To be fair, they get shit sales because nobody buys anything that isn't one of the big-name superhero books like Spiderman or Batman.

And half the TPBs don't tell the full story but contain a setup and then have "continued in Generation Lost issue #fuckinwhatever" or some such dipshittery. What is the point of putting out a TPB if it only has half the story in it?

So they can sell the next batch of issues in another TPB.

Have you seen the No Man's Land TBPs? It's something like 3 or 4 huge volumes. They're my next goal for collecting after I get the rest of Transmetropolitan.

Torrenting DC Comics is okay, because if the sales get low enough they might fire that dipshit Didio and get someone who isn't a misogynistic homophobe instead. Didio has to go.

That's not why I torrent DC comics, but I agree 100% with your statement about Didio. Jim Lee, too.
