Huh, You and I must be reading different Ironfrost fics because it's my fave pairing too, and I've read a bunch of fics and have only seen one that slightly fits that scenario (although Loki was hardly frail in that one either, despite being injured). I'd actually be interested to read a fic like the ones you've described, but I've never really found one.

How not?? I'm not brave enough to browse AoO on my own, and all I find from rec lists are AUs and Thor showing up at the Avengers tower; "my brother is not safe at home"/"earth is his punishment" and then leaves him there for Tony to make fun of.

I think your problem is that you're not brave enough to browse ao3 on your own. I notice that in a lot of fandoms, Avengers especially for some reason, what's popular on rec lists doesn't always match up with what's popular in the "free-range" fandom.
