Yes yes yes. The only person I know with that sort of accent at all is my grammy, and it's never that thick on her.

Lol, my mother is in her sixties and she doesn't have the accent, but because of her I call soda tonic, or living room palla, drawer draw etc.

I disagree, having been to Bawston a couple times and having heard a bunch of people tawk about theya cah pahks and such.

lol That's because it's a Southie accent. My family is from Southie and they have it pretty thick, but my niece/nephew who grew up in East Boston don't have it at all. If you hang out at like Andrew Station or something you'll probably hear it.

Listen to the MBTA drivers, they've got it down. To hear a Boston accent anywhere else, you have to leave Boston itself and go to outlying towns.

Yes, when I lived in Boston during college, the only people I encountered who had that stereotypical accent were T drivers.

Huh, that's so weird. My family is from Boston, I grew up around there, and I heard it from more than T drivers. Luck of the draw, I guess?
