I hear ya, fellow Southerner.

I remember when I was playing Xenosaga Episode I... supposedly the character Mary Godwin had some random accent she picked up from somewhere. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be emulating, but if Wendee Lee was going for Southern belle, she failed some serious sweaty monkey balls with all of her shaky LIL MASTUHs. Ugh. Just terrible.

The actress who replaced the character in the other two episodes was a HUGE improvement.

The 'Southern Belle' thing KILLS ME. I'm pretty sure half the trouble arises because people are going after what they THIK a Southern accent sounds like, like maybe from the 5 times they watched Gone with the Wind, and never actually copied off real people with the real accent.

I will say that the lead in The Walking Dead is better than most and by all accounts worked his butt off with a legit native Georgian dialect coach...considering he's British he does better than most Americans.

Is she the one who does one of the voices for the sisters from Magic Knight Rayearth season 2? Cause I know the joke in the subbed version is that they have an Osaka accent (Kansai?), but when dubbed, Osaka becomes Southern and DEAR GOD PLEASE STOP.

Er, just looked her up, she DOES do a vpive, but it's Umi. But still, my complaint still stands cause WHY.
