This happens with pretty much every MCU ship
This happens in every large fandom, really. The first 10% are the "original stuff" and another 10% are more interesting or unique things, while the remaining 80% is copying that first 10%.
The trick is to find a pairing where the recycled and dominating ideas are to your taste. I love Steve/Tony, but most of the common fics/Stony fic tropes are...well, not disliked, but not something I actively like in large doses. I've gone diehard Steve/Bucky, not because I think it'll be different - I'm sure before the year is out most of the new Stucky fics will be repeats of everything that's come out in the last month or so - but because at least the tropes and trends are stuff that are far closer to my tastes (mindfucks, major whump and angst, less contrived plots, historical details, etc.).

I grew up in the Southwest and never saw a Stuckey's, yet I know I've seen at least one in Indiana (which isn't Southeast, but that's where most of them are concentrated, so you know what I mean).
