It's not too late, OP! Remember that TNG episode where three people from the 21st century had been cryogenically frozen and shot into space? The Enterprise found them and thawed them out, gave them counselling and a quick catch-up and sent them on their way (mostly). You could be frozen until then! Just make sure your family knows your wishes.

Well we never found out what happened to them. One or two of them could have joined Starfleet after that episode.
