That never happened to me but I always relate- I would flip some shit. It's really irritating.
Tags are useful but people need to learn how to use them properly, really.

I'm glad you've been able to avoid that -- it's really damn frustrating. There's this small pairing I love, let's call them Bob and Robin (don't wanna point fingers at anyone). If you order fics on AO3 by kudos or comments for that pairing tag, the highest one is a story where Robin is paired with someone else -- and Bob isn't even in the damn fic (he's just mentioned as being Robin's ex).

That's happened to me quite a bit (pairings tagged that are only mentioned as brief past references) but I don't mind so much, I usually like many pairings.

It does make me not think so much of the author, though. It does seem a bit off to those who do care.
