Roller coasters. Or most park rides, really. They scare the shit out of me. And yes, I've ridden them. Over and over again, really, trying to beat my fear by confronting it. But no. They still scare me.

I got stuck on a mini roller coaster ride as a kid. It terrified me. They wouldn't let me get off. They just kept making it go and go. I will never go on another one again because of it.

I had a similar experience. Australia's Wonderland, an amusement park in the western suburbs of Sydney, had a miniature version of their "Bush Beast", called "The Beastie". I went on it with my mother when I was 8, and it was the limit of how much I could stand in roller coasters.

For me it's a combination of the speed, big climbs that precede fast downward slopes, and, depending on the roller coaster, turns that corkscrew around, all factors which would simply exacerbate my fear of heights.

I'm right there with you. (Not on the 'riding them over and over again' part though, because frankly you couldn't pay me.)

Certain other rides I can deal with but I went on a few roller coasters as a kid and have refused to ride them since.

I'm afraid of heights, so...yea, that doesn't help, and I'm also afraid of getting stuck on one. (Like poor anon above.) I'm afraid of elevators for the same reasons.
