I was on the same plane as Ian McKellan on the way to LA. I was too nervouse to say anything, but my mom went up and told him I was a big fan, and then told his boyfriend that he (the boyfriend) was very cute. They were en route to the Academy Awards, for one of the LotR movies.

I've met more celebrities at cons, but the two most famous were:

I once near-literally bumped into Amber Benson at SDCC. As in, I was walking down the aisle and got distracted by something in a booth, and she was walking the other way, and I only turned back just in time to avoid collision. I said "sorry" or something, and didn't quite register that it was here.

At at different SDCC, I happened to be in exactly the right place at the right time to be #4 in line to meet Adam West. So I bought his biography, and he seemed pretty happy that a person in their early 20s was excited to meet him. He also looks astonishingly like my paternal grandfather.
