Wait a second. So it's a problem when someone writes MCU fic with comics elements and uses both MCU and comics tags. But it's also a problem when someone writes comics fic with MCU elements and doesn't use both MCU and comics tags? That complaint doesn't strike you as...slightly contradictory?

I mean, I recognize that from a pure numbers perspective, MCU fic overwhelms comics fic, and I do sympathize with your position. Still, I think it's rather hypocritical for you to demand that fusion fic with mostly MCU elements be tagged only as MCU, and that fusion fic with mostly comics elements be tagged both MCU and comics.

(That said. This won't help you with your second problem, but regarding your first, you can exclude fandoms from your search. In the Search within results textbox to the right, type either -"marvel cinematic universe" or NOT "marvel cinematic universe" and hit the Sort and Filter button, and that'll clear out a lot of the fusion fic for you.)

You see, aside from the fact that comic fics rarely need to take inspiration from the movies since there's 70+ years of canon to take inspiration from, what I'm talking about in the secret are fics that are tagged only as comcs and yet are ooc for comics. Because the character are obviously from mcu and the dynamics are obviously mcu and you can't tag it as comics only because you've taken characters from the mcu and put them in a situation from the comics, with characters from the comics walking in the background and/or being painfully ooc because the writer obviously doesn't know them well enough.
I've never seen a single comic fic with the right characterization that takes inspirations from the movies because, as I said, there's so much source material to work on there's no reason to use mcu, which is loosely based on the source material in the first place.
So there's that.
(Also I do use search filtering and still these fics manages to crawl into my research somehow- it's baffling to say the least)

That was OP btw, I'm dumb.
