My brother and I met Chuck Yeager in an airport many, many years ago. My brother, who was about six at the time, idolized the man. (He had Mr. Yeager's biography on tape and could recite huge chunks of it from memory. Which drove us all crazy.) Mr. Yeager was very gracious, took the time to talk to my brother just as if he were an adult and not a star-struck child. He even signed a deck of playing cards that I had in my backpack - which remains one of my brother's prized possessions.
