God I feel you so hard on this, and honestly it's like this in the UK too. Footballers are held up as gods among men because they're good at kicking a ball around a field, the stupid EPIC BATTLE adverts that we get whe it's two top teams playing each other, and the riots. The fucking riots because a stupid team lost a game.

God commentary is something I could do without on any sport, it's not really necessary and most of the time it's just two people prattling on about anything they can in order to fill the silence. And I think I'd prefer the silence tbh.

Yeah not rooting for a team is seen as weird over here too, I can get away with it more because I'm a girl and there's still that outdated idea that 'girls don't like football' but men like my dad and brother get weird looks because they don't like it at all but y'know they're men, they should.
