Funny that you find it this way around. Often I've found myself more often disgusted with game fandoms being too sexist homophobic etc, rather than too anti-sexist/ anti-racist.

Is it just that the DA fandom is especially anti-oppression, or do out do even gaming fandoms tolerance for sexism and homophobia? I'm assuming you're a regular decent person, but for all I know you just go about screaming "WHORES AND FAGGOTS! THE GAME IS FULL OF WHORES AND FAGGOTS?!"

For DA:O and DA2, I think the OP is talking about the rather zealous segment that see the variety of representations and decide that every group must now be represented in the DA games, and they tend to regularly clash with the other side that complains about homosexuality being too blatant in the series.

Since the game does allow quite a bit of variety in sexual orientation there is a crowd that has developed that can get a little SJW-ish in some parts of the fandom, of course it doesn't help the fans that just want to play the game that the previously mentioned group tends to clash viciously with the normal kind of homophobic crowd that hangs around Bioware games complaining about how the gay relationships are ruining their experience.

Basically it's kind of a clusterfuck, and portions of the DA fandom talk constantly about gender, sex, and race issues in the game which can put off people that just want to talk about magic, darkspawn, and the characters themselves without focusing solely on their sexuality and who they should be banging.

Or at least I assume that's what the OP is talking about anyway.

From what I've seen on the DA fandom on tumblr, they are incredibly SJW-like. A recent thing I remember was a confession about someone not finding the love interests attractive in DA3, and it received a lot of indignant responses expressing a "how dare you not like diversity" mindset.

It seems that most fandoms tend to suffer from both extremes.

It's either crazy sjws that will crucify you for every sneeze or immature people that think sexist/racist/homophobic views are perfectly acceptable. No middle ground.
