Oh my god, this. White Guy With a Little Stubble 45 gets overlooked because there's nothing in it to draw a crowd (except maybe for the occasional angry post that gets reblogged everywhere), but a game that takes a decent shot at handling things? Gets the shit analyzed out of it.

Perspective, people. It wouldn't hurt.

Oh goodness, this. I mean, yeah every game has something to improve on, and commenting on those improvements isn't bad. However, I think it's important to celebrate the things games do right and celebrate attempts at doing something interesting or good. My go to example is Once Upon a Time. Do I wish that it was more diverse racially and that there were more LGBT characters other than Mulan? Of course. However, it's a show where the main characters are all women who are varied and interesting. I think that's worth celebrating, while simultaneously critiquing.

As an Once Upon a Time outsider, these are the male characters I know:

Rumpelstiltskin
Some other guy who's with a lady, I don't remember anything else
That kid
Oh wait, I just remembered Prince Charming is in here somewhere because of the wank

Female characters, though? Oodles. I'm not saying the gender distribution makes it the Perfect Show, but you do kinda have to stop and give an appreciative "damn."
