Nah, her song was pretty good actually. I mean the original favorites (sweden azebeijan) where while well constructed songs pretty flat live. Conchita really brought it. Eurovision viewers are suckers for a good ballad.

+1

The song was pretty yet stirring, her voice was lovely, and her performance was flawless. I really loved the visual of the flaming wings, too: simple yet effective, and it enhanced the song rather than detracting from it (*cough* hamster wheel, *cough* trapeze).

The eternal romance of a lady and a hamster-man who can do whatever a hamster can. Seperated by his wheel they can never be together.

That was what that song was about right?

Well, of course. And Russia's song was about female Jedi knight twins with lightsabers and hairpieces on a seesaw which totally represented the balance of the light and the dark side of the force.

Ahahaha! This is the absolute best explanation of that performance.

I was scratching my head over the Sweden one because I didn't watch the semi finals so I really didn't understand how THAT was a favourite. Someone said to me "it was basically Let it Go take 2" as an explanation but I'm not sure I agree.

I think Conchita's performance was great and it was the sort of Eurovision ballad that does well and always will do well. Personally I don't really like ballads in general but no denying her voice was amazing and compared to the other ballads on the night it was solid.
