Agreed. I don't mind being warm inside the house, but the second I step outside I'd rather be a little too cold than a little too warm. Part of it is that I hate sweating. Which is a problem when you live in southern Arizona...

I spent two years living in Texas because I had to move back home, and my parents had moved there. It was awful. I don't think I went outside much of ever either summer I was there. Now I'm back in Boston and much happier.

Some of it's just "you get used to it after a while." The rest is climate control everywhere, constant access to water, and doing things early in the morning and late in the evening.

I was always under the impression that Arizonans don't sweat much because it's so dry...?

(for some reason, I don't mind being sweaty. I gather this is rather unusual. Drenched in sweat is ew, but a little bit doesn't but me at all, as long as there's deodorant involved)

No, there is still sweating if you're outside long enough. it's over 100 today.

Sweating isn't humidity-related. In a dry heat you sweat buckets and it all evaporates the second it's in direct sunlight -- as sweat is supposed to do -- leaving you with a fine film of dirt and salt over your exposed skin and little rivers pooling under your clothes.

I know how sweat works. I worded my previous comment poorly. I was under the impression that in dry heat, because sweat evaporates so fast, you don't feel wet/sticky like you do in humidity.
