What do you find creepy about them? Also, do you read a translation? Usually the original language of a book is the best version.

Of course, everyone has their likes and dislikes, I'm just curious!

It's a translation. It's boring, I can't keep the characters straight, and it's full of awkward sex scenes.

Sounds like Love In The Time Of Cholera to me. Have you tried 100 Years Of Solitude? I liked that a lot better.

The one I'm reading right now is for an assignment, so I don't really have an option but yes, I own 100 Years of Solitude, tried to get into it a few years ago because I love the Tangled Family Tree trope. I just can't. It's his writing style, I guess. It's beautiful? Like, I can tell that it's "good writing", I just don't find it engaging. Sorry.
