My co-worker. Every day. She is so fucking annoying.

Our marketing head was a total drama queen. When we had to call her on the carpet over her behavior she refused to join the Skype call and sniped at everyone via IM, and actually triggered the shit out of her girlfriend to get her upset with us so she'd have someone on her side.

Amazingly, we kept her.

I think I last attended work last month, but the attitude of the teachers who are currently in charge of the children's daycare seriously pissed me off. It was obvious they didn't give a fuck about whether or not the daily activity was entertaining for the kids (ah yes, origami for the 30th time this year so far, how nice), and when they had all the compulsory parts of the day over, they turned on the TV and lounged around and ignored the kids. I mean, I get that working at a preschool is not exactly their dream job, but they are taking care of real children. Can't they put some goddamn effort into it?

Edit: I feel obliged to mention that I've already requested to take over the daycare next year and improve it during that period of time between college and university. I'm not just sitting on my arse and fuming here.

Mostly managers who could not organise a piss-up in a brewery if they brought their own glass, and never think to ring me when they need me to fix things instead of just letting me walk into the middle of it blind. Phones! Useful modern inventions! Everyone has one. Including me. I have one. You could ring me on it. I promise, it would make everything so much easier, swear to God.

I'm working part time as a substitute teacher. This one kid is basically the bane of any class he's in and it doesn't appear the teachers can do anything about it. The district won't let us kick kids out unless they're violent. But he won't fucking shut up. Good luck learning anything if he's present.

Where do I begin?

Recently, though, people getting REALLY angry and complaining in front of me for what ended up being a technical error. No one was at fault, it was just something up with the software I use, but apparently it was a catastrophe.

I got put through a fence because my colleague has quite literally the worst people skills of anyone I've ever met. And waved me off when I saw the situation was going to go to shit, and put myself in a situation to stop it before it did.

We just had a team meeting which superficially was about tensions in the team but was literally everyone airing their issues with her, and the fact that the tension is bad enough when she's in that other teams in our office are commenting on it.

Our air conditioning went out. In Los Angeles. In 99 degree weather.

And our boss skipped out early for a long weekend right after it happened, before everyone came in in the morning to find it was broken.

(And the rooms that did have the AC working were only allowed to use it if a certain number of people there. Boss's orders, to save money. God, he sucks.)

The computer system is set up so that you need permission for a lot of different things--some people have permission to do almost anything, whereas assistants like me start with very few permissions. One of my superiors is the sole person in Admin authorized to change other people's permissions, and I'm supposed to go to her when I get a task that requires new permissions. Unfortunately, a computer update reset the system and changed everyone's permissions back to default, so she doesn't have permission to change permissions now.

In theory, this should be simple to fix--there's a guy in IT who still has permission to change permissions, and she's repeatedly messaged him asking him to change her permissions. Problem is, he's retiring when summer comes, and he no longer gives a crap about doing his job, because what are they gonna do, fire him just slightly ahead of schedule? Since he won't get off his ass, she can't change my permissions, so if I run out of tasks I can do with my permissions, and I can't find someone high-ranking to log in for me so I can use their permissions, I need to cut my workday short and take a salary hit.

Most of my colleagues are pretty decent to work with--the worst I have to deal with is them loudly playing Disney music while they work. But it sometimes seems like a lot of the folks in other departments either don't get what they're doing, or don't give a crap if they're doing it right. (Or, in this case, at all.)

My boss asking me if we REALLY needed to send a cab to pick up something on Friday (that should have been ordered nearly a week prior and thanks to two glorious fuck ups, didn't).

And then having her pretty much argue with me when I said yes because:

a) I started the day needing 23 of this product. I had 12.
b) Luckily 4 of my chemotherapy patients were canceled.
c) I already doubled up when I could (which I'm not supposed to do, because it's a closed-system device that shouldn't be removed from the syringe once attached, or I risk exposing myself to cytotoxic agents).
d) It's a long weekend, and if we didn't pick the case up Friday, it wouldn't come until Tuesday afternoon, and the poor tech in that shift on Tuesday would be fucked six ways from Sunday.

I got so angry with her. I know she's trying to penny pinch, but I could list her at least half a dozen other ways to save money that don't include putting my health at risk.

When my co-worker quit without notice (as in, on the day by walking in then walking out) and I had to cover her shift as well as my own on a busy Saturday in the summer. Not. Impressed.

Not working right now, but one thing that happened last summer (same place I'll be working again starting in about a month) that pissed me off was a lady coming through my drive through, paying for her less-than-$10 order with a 10, then insisting she'd given me a 20. She ended up coming in for me to count the drawer for her, with my manager watching, and when it came up right she STILL insisted she'd paid a 20 and wanted us to check the security camera. Well, my shift manager had no clearance on the camera, GM didn't know how to do it remotely, and predictably when he called the DM (who's an ass) he said to just give her the extra $10 to make her go away. Which I felt validated her complaints and made me look like a liar and/or a thief (which I am vehemently not).

Then, of course, when we got access to the video later, it showed her handing me a 10.

I wasn't as mad at her (she was older, I think she might have been losing it a little) as I was at the DM. I hate it when managers enable bad customer behavior. And it sets a very bad precedent.

UUULLLGGGHHHH Everyone's a cunt. No, not true. A lot of my coworkers are pleasant, but one of my coworkers found a new job closer to where he lives and this upcoming Tuesday is his last day. My supervisor wanted to throw him a farewell BBQ lunch, and asked me to organize it.
I usually don't mind organizing them, but I wanted to hit my supervisor's face with a baseball bat. He said he would bring the grill and charcoal, and when I asked how much people should pitch in for the food, the first thing out of his mouth was, "Well, I'm bringing in the grill and charcoal so I don't think I should pitch in for the food."
I was so close to cussing him out. First, he is the one who wants to do the grilling even though my coworker who is leaving said he didn't really want us to do anything special for him. Second, our supervisor probably gets paid a lot more than anyone else in our department and he can't even pitch in a couple bucks? It's not like I was asking for much, either. Third, our company provides us with gas grills, he doesn't actually need to bring in his special grill and charcoal. Fourth, I don't understand why he can't just organize the thing himself.
I guess greedy/cheap people really piss me off.
I've bought the majority of the items and yeah, I've had to use some of my own money. =\ I don't know what I can say and whom? I just have to suck it up and use my own cash.

Non-tipping customers acting like they're my friend and stuff and acting personally offended if I don't buddy up to them in response. I will give you the bare minimum service, I remember you're not a tipper. Why would I be happy to see you? Ain't even smiling

I used to work at a place with this really passive-aggressive miccromanaging coworker who acted like my boss even though she knew nothing and wasn't in a managerial role. She was the sort of person who called me "honey" and "sweetie" and liked to invade my personal space, and criticise every little thing I ever did. Ugh.

Then there was this one customer... this was at a cafe, in a trendy hipster part of town, and this one customer threw a fit because some of our juices were from cartons, and some were handmade.

I mean, I understand why she was mad - it was false advertising on the cafe's part, really.

But jesus, the fact that the biggest thing she has to worry about in her day is her juice not being hand-picked by monks from the slopes of a mountain in Tibet. It's part of this pretentious "whole-foods vegan GF" culture that's trendy right now amongst dumb rich people.

it was really really hard for me to sympathize with her over her orange juice not being hand-squeeze, when i was at the end of a six hour shift with no breaks and barely a drink of water

The work itself. I hate sales. But then I remind myself that I just spent three months eating nothing but white rice and frozen veggies three meals a day and I suddenly find myself quite enthusiastic about making lots of sales XD

I just recently transferred to a different facility in the healthcare system I work for, and I love it so much. My previous job I had to leave because my boss was getting really micro-manage-y and it was pissing me off so fucking much.

The straw that broke the camel's back for me was that I got into trouble for basically doing my job and following the policy as we had it set. But because the customer was still angry and felt that I didn't do enough for him, even though I did everything per our policy, he complained to our higher ups and they saw things from his side. I got in trouble and was forced to take a verbal warning, and I felt that my manager didn't have my back at all. I didn't want to work in an environment like that.

My new job has been great though, and so much less stressful. I have no regrets for transferring.

I don't mind covering a shift when other people can't make it, but I'm pretty damned upset at being asked to cover it 1- at 8am the same day for the afternoon and when 2- I've said I have plans and I have to cut them short.

I hardly ever make plans on days off and on the one day I do, I have to cut them short. I get that someone else is sick, but I can only think of two occasions when I had to leave early for an appointment and my two coworkers do this all the fucking time. Everyone else relies on me, but I've got no one I can rely on.
