I couldn't be bothered with the second movie, though I liked the first one. But I'll watch it if it has some fandom potential.

I really don't understand that attitude : doing things because there might be a fandom you can participate into.

With fandom it's more fun and it means there's something interesting enough there to inspire a fandom.

Well, sometimes I don't think things will be entertaining to warrant 2+ hours of my life when I don't have that much free time. If there's a potential for discussion and fic and friends, things I enjoy way more than movies, I'm slightly more okay investing that time.

The movie: 2 hours or so.

The fandom: 6 months of fun (if not years of it).

I'm more and more starting to choose media to consume purely because there's a well-run fandom.
