I don't know about recipes, but I cook mine with a little over half coconut or almond milk and water. I add frozen peaches or fresh green apples mostly, which I boil with the milk/water, then add the oats and cinnamon. When it's almost done (maybe like a few more minutes of cooking left) I add nuts and honey (if I'm using soft fresh fruit like berries I add them here). After I put it in the bowl I add a bit more milk and honey. Sometimes instead of honey I use sweet potato butter, apple butter or jam which I add after I put in it in the bowl. I've seen people use peanut butter, but I don't like peanut butter.

Ah so you do boil the fruit with the oats? I had thought of adding fresh fruit after, but I thought the taste wouldn't mix well enough. I'll totally try it out the way you do it!

Oh god, after my whole life reading and watching movies about people eating oatmeal and wondering what the heck it is I finally made the big step. :D
