I suppose that given the choice, I would rather have an OTP that's beloved by fandom than an OTP that's canon. But if I could I would take both, of course.

(I guess I also have a pretty good eye for what's likely to be canon - nothing in the vein of the classic Delusional Johnlock Shipper, for example - so when I ship things I know are unlikely, I run with it and have fun. When I ship something that really feels like it has a shot, but it doesn't make it, I'm kind of devastated.)
