I don't need any of my non-canon ships to be canon in order to enjoy them, but I'd be lying if I said part of me wouldn't be happy about it if they did. I've had ships stay non-canon and I've had some become canon and tbh, it's kind of nice when it happens.

But I'll grant a lot of the time it does seem to come off as internet pissing contests over which ship is 'better'.
