Eh, it was always going to happen once his looks really started to fade and the only much younger woman he was going to get was a pure golddigger anymore. These are the last of his even decent-looking years and he could see the writing on the wall, so he locked something down before he started to have to pay women to date him.

Yeah, he is getting pretty grandpa-like in his appearance. Pretty much the epitome of a celebrity who "everyone"/the media declares to be hot, but really isn't.

(Another example of this type of old celebrity would be Jennifer Aniston. I think I saw an amusing comparison of tabloid reactions to the respective engagements somewhere)

Riiight. It couldn't ever be something so simple as perhaps he's simply in love with her and finally sees in her somebody he could spend the rest of his life with? It has that his looks starting to go so he was desperate to marry somebody or some sexist bullshit like that?
