I've found that most people who don't like it adored the original trilogy. Which... I, personally, hated. The villains felt flat there. Here I can actually identify them as, you know, people first who happen to BECOME villains.

Also Gwen does way more than MJ ever fucking did, which is a great thing. Fuck the original trilogy's MJ. At least Gwen has a fucking life outside Peter and is successful in it, and Peter turns to her because she's actually fucking useful.

THANK YOU.

I'm shocked at all the people in this thread who are hating on these movies.

I liked them! Both Peter and Gwen felt way more relatable and interesting and real than the original trilogy. They had tons of chemistry and their romance was adorable.

I can, however understand the criticism about the villians - I don't think any of them have been well-developed, tbh, and they were probably a bit better in the original trilogy. But Dan Dehane was perfect casting for the Green Goblin.

So much butthurt in this thread. You'd think this film was as bad as "Battlefield Earth" by the way people are carrying on. I think people are conveniently forgetting the third Spiderman film.

Why are you shocked? I prefer the Raimi versions. You prefer newer ones. I'm not shocked by that. So what - we like different things. But apparently, if we discuss it, or disagree on points we're discussing, it somehow translates to "butthurt"?

P.S. Battlefield Earth sucked.

P.S. Battlefield Earth sucked.

Well, yeah, that was the point. People are acting like the new Spiderman movies are absolutely terrible, and they don't seem that bad to me. Both the first trilogy and the newer ones had problems; I just prefer the newer ones.

And there is, indeed, butthurt if you'll look upthread, although that seems to be one very mad comic book fan.

I think Gwen was great, but I still think the new movies are bad and I don't like the old trilogy either.
