That's cause Homestuck is huge and has a million characters and 'canon' ships usually get broken up and/or brutally murdered, and both Sollux and Feferi have been dead/not really important to the plot for a long time. People tend to forget about things that happened a while ago and move on to the shiny newer characters. It's not like this is the only not-so-popular ship in Homestuck. Dude, my ship is Rosejade. They talk once in canon. At least you have this (link is a flashing gif). I'm sure there's stuff out there though (see: huge fandom). Have you tried the Homestuck shipping world cup/olympics? Anyway, people like their ships to be canon because it means they were right. Being right is satisfying. Ah, Gamrezi. How I wish you had just remained subtext.
