It might be a bit odd, but I like mine with just some salt, pepper, and maybe a bit of butter.

I also cook the oats with just water and a bit of salt.

First you should understand, I have a very variable sleep pattern, so if my first meal is at midday, I call it "lunch", and on top of that I rare eat cereal of any sort anyway, but if I decide to have rolled oats (porridge) for breakfast, that would be how I'd eat them.

You know, I think I was sorta forgetting that outside of Italy people commonly have not-sweet breakfasts. :) Here we have a sweet tooth in the morning, for the most part. Well, at least the first breakfast, then mid-morning I can also eat a sandwich if I feel like it.

Considering the prevalence of breakfast cereals in western countries, I do know sweet breakfasts are pretty common in Australia, though I think there's a balance with savory ones, like eggs and bacon, baked beans, and other stuff on toast.

I will say that in my own case, I have tendency to favour savory things.
