Actually, "overcompensating for all the hate obese people get" sounds like exactly what I need in my life right now, so. . . thanks for the rec.

I see what you're getting at here, but I'm not sure this will be a huge help. I've read the series and like the OP, felt that Hobb was taking it a bit far. There's a big difference between fat positivity (or simply not hating on obese people!) and a book that portrays overeating as some sort of sexy sacred ritual. I exercise regularly. I eat healthy, though I could use more attention to portion control. I'm still overweight and diabetic (type 2), but working on it. I DO NOT WANT OR NEED TO BE TOLD THAT STUFFING MY FACE UNTIL I PHYSICALLY CANNOT MOVE IS SOME SORT OF UTOPIAN IDEAL.

That's not just an unhealthy message, but a condescending one as well.

hm, well, that's not what I wanted :\ . . . but it sounds like it could be interesting anyway? It depends on how it's handled, I guess.
