Wow, you're assuming a lot. You can't really know anything about her circumstances over the internet. For one thing, the economy really sucks and jobs can be hard to find. I was a victim of downsizing a couple years ago and haven't been able to find another job. I'm not even talking about just in the field my degree is in. The couple call backs I got didn't pan out and even retail isn't calling me back. I had to move in with friends after my unemployment ran out and I couldn't pay my bills. Only reason I didn't move back in with my parents is because they're not living.

I was suicidal there for awhile and this person could be using TV and the internet as a coping mechanism, just like I do.

Judge all you want but just because someone you once admired isn't living some fabulous life doesn't mean 1)they're a stereotypical, unmotivated slob or 2)that you'll turn out to be in the same boat.

same. I went through a period of nearly 2 years without a job and had horrible depression, and thus spent a lot of my time escaping into my writing. It kept me going, and now I'm a lot happier and have a job etc.

Wrong. OP is a judgmental asshole and probably doesn't know the circumstances of the person they're talking about, but that doesn't make your ignorant claim any less wrong.
