That picture, which I assume is an official Disney image, bothers me so much. Why the heck aren't the princesses all the same size? Why is Jasmine a mini person?

I heard once that Disney, while having lots of images of the princesses in the same picture, refuses to have images that display the princesses interacting with one another - for the sanctity of the different worlds they come from, or something. That also bothers me. I want to see them as friends.

I read that as well; I think it's kind of uncanny to be standing beside people you aren't in the same universe of in an attempt to entice small children.

Jasmine has to be smaller because if she was a fullsized brown-person, she might accidentally scare the average Disney exec.

Okay, you want the Season Two onwards boxset of Once Upon a Time then.

Um.. no. I want kids to be exposed to the princesses looking like friends and having fun, despite each being an individual who leads their own adventure. I want more exposure to the concept of women hanging out and being pals, instead of being on a pedestal and wearing shiny dresses.

Maybe even a Disney short or something of them all together partying.

Kingdom Hearts? House of Mouse? The face characters at the parks? Episodes of Sofia the First, where she meets other princesses?

DA

House of Mouse was canceled years ago, and I don't remember the princesses interacting much. I remember it mainly being about Mickey and his friends.

Unofficial fancomic, but Pocket Princesses?

Iirc it might be something to do with Jasmine's age? She's like 15 right?

Aha! Found the ages!

Wait, what? Are those official ages, or ages that come from fan speculations?

Official. I do remember Ariel being 16, and according to Aladdin's original script, Jasmine is 15 almost 16.

The other ages I can get, but Jasmine being 15 boggles my mind. She seems so mature. And Pocahontas, wasn't she like 12 in real life, haha.

Yeah, same. :P For me she will forever be 18! And not that tiny jfc Disney...

And yes, Pocahontas was supposedly 12 and never had a romance with John Smith. Disney just took some (a LOT) of liberties with that particular story. :'D

(Anonymous) 2014-05-21 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's weird, because I remember that there was something called Princess Academy where they intended to have them all interacting?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-21 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe that was probably a Video Brinquedo knockoff/mockbuster.
