I wonder how many people read this secret and thought, "Shit, this secret is about me"? (Even if they aren't a really BNF.)

You said she was a nice and fun person. Despite being fat, unemployed and living with her parents, (who cares if she is fat.) is she still nice and fun. If so, why do you care? Does her unemployment affect you? Does her being fat affect you? Does her living with her parents affect you? No? Again, then why care?

I think you missed the point of the OP's secret. It affected her in the sense that she decided she didn't want to BE like the BNF. That's how it affected her.

The OP is very judgmental, but I don't think it's hard to read how the BNF's circumstances affected her choice.
