But even the non-CGI girls in the princess line have different styles.

ia. Why would you want them to look all uniform, anyway? They're unique and come from unique continuities and unique stories.

Mmm, possibly because having a bunch of different animations styles side by side can look weird if not properly accounted for. But this is Disney, they should be able to pull it off.

I get that the designs are different, but I have this thing about...I guess you would call it the medium?

For example, when I see fanart of video game or cartoon characters drawn hyperrealistic, or when I see really detailed or realistic characters drawn like traditional cartoons, something about it just...really bothers my nitpicky side. No matter how good the art is objectively.

Huh, I don't really get it but I can see that it's something that really bothers you. Thank you for trying to explain yourself.

I'm sorry that you're probably not going to get you're wish. :(

Yeah, probably not. I have some hope that that new one they're supposedly working on (Moana?) will be 2D, but I have no grounds for that.

But I'm growing out of Disney (new Disney, anyway; still love the classics), and I can always not look at fan art.

We'll just have to wait and see.

I feel the same and this saddens me. I don't know if it's me or if it's them but I find myself thoroughly dissatisfied and frustrated by that.
