I'm a big dork about lots of different stuff, but do not RP any of it. I think it's far to say they are not in fact "inextricably linked" -- of course, that has nothing to do with whether or not RP secrets should be allowed.
Obviously most think they should, and that's fine. It's not like I'm paying by the pixel to download this shit. Not worth getting bunchy about, I don't reckon.
huh. even as someone who does RP, quite a lot, I'll definitely give you that. to phrase it better I think a lot of people see it as a natural offshoot of fandom (even if others don't) and thus, secrets. of course you can debate till the cows come home whether or not RP secrets actually belong here, but then you just go back and forth with "well then get a separate comm for DN/PW/I'd hit that/I ship it/etcetcetc" and having a community for every little thing is just silly. so why not stay centralized?

Quite so. If I started getting bunchy about what got posted to a goofy livejournal nerd community, I think that would be a signal reevaluate the fuck out of my priorities.
