When some of my friends were discussing ways they'd encountered this very problem, I was silent because as of that time I had never been mislabeled. Ironically, at some point in the conversation one of my friends put in that she thinks I'm asexual. I said no, just because I'm single, not looking, and don't say things like "Damn s/he's hot" or "I'd tap that" like the rest of you doesn't mean I'm asexual.

Well, it turned out I am, but I only realized it years after that conversation. So the point still stands. Stood.
