Re: Wolfenstein: The New Order (and other video games)

Well to clear up the Fallout stuff, I meant that I liked that occupiedness and feeling of being lived in New Vegas more than the complete openness of 3 had going on, which just felt empty. And I've never really cared all that much about the main storylines of Elder Scrolls games, though when I got Oblivion I never played the other 3 games before it or read any of the in game books either and still followed the main storyline just fine. Don't get me wrong, I love Skyrim and have sunk hundreds of hours into it, I think something in Oblivion hits something I really like.

Oddly enough, I'm not too bothered by the Mojave feeling lived-in. It's no different than any other major settlement in Fallout 1 or 2. But I hated the way the game funneled you.

Can't really argue about feeling, though, that's as personal as it gets. Well, someone has to like Oblivion, might as well be you. :)

(If not for the idiotic racial and gender differences, I'd like OB more myself)

I feel I am, for the most part, the only person who likes Oblivion, since when people talk about the Elder Scrolls you either liked Morrowind or you liked Skyrim, and thought Oblivion was either meh or terrible, because Morrowind (or Skyrim, but I haven't really heard that one yet).

I would not be opposed if someone made all of Fallout 2 on the New Vegas engine, or better yet, whatever engine they use for Fallout 4; I'd really like to see 2 (or 1) again, but plays like 3 or NV.

I'm gonna say Skyrim trumps the rest, because Morrowind is fucking awful. So there, I'm the first person you've ever heard say that.

The fundamental problem with Fallout 1 and 2 is that it's... well, it probably wouldn't be the same kind of game as Fallout 3/NV. Fallout 1/2 is basically Ultima with guns, whereas 3/NV are Elder Scrolls with guns.

They could probably do something like what Wasteland 2 is doing, though.
