Re: "I am not your label"

I've been labeled a socialist because I admitted that I thought the concept of a maximum wage was not entirely without merit.

I don't see anything wrong with that concept, honestly. There comes a point at which you say "no human being is worth that much money," regardless of what they've done.

I mean, maybe if they single-handedly cured every single kind of cancer, but other than that? I don't think so.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it. Doesn't mean I'm against private ownership of property or profit or people getting rich. Just not obscenely rich by means of screwing over the people who are actually doing the work that produces said profit.

I like the way you think. It's like, I have no problem with your average rich people. The ones who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year sort. It's the ones making millions or billions a year that I think are making more than any one person should have, and wish their salary would be capped and the remainder divided up amongst the rest of the employees.

Of course, then there's the trouble that a lot of the obscenely rich aren't actually earning a lot of their money... they've just stashed away a bunch in banks where is does fuck all to help anyone or the economy, and does nothing much make the obscenely rich even richer...
