I have tried to get people interested many times! In the end, you can't force people to drop everything and like a new thing right this instant, especially if it's a thing with virtually no fic and art. Normally I'd agree with the "just name it!" thing but, at the moment, I don't really feel like trying to 'recruit' people, and it really would de-anon me. It's just that for most of my small fandoms, I go in the tags on tumblr and it's just the same gifsets over and over, very little discussion, no actual fanworks. I'm just venting right now.

I don't see it as trying to recruit anyone. I see it as naming a series that needs more love and giving people a chance to look into it. Maybe I will make a thread for this tomorrow. I've seen so many people being frustrated about their obscure/small fandoms not getting enough love recently and yet nobody wants to name them. It's frustrating tbh. Like how do you expect people to get into it if you won't share what the series or whatever is?

Sorry, I just needed to vent.

And yeah, I understand. How small is your fandom? Could you see if anyone would be interested in a fanwork fest or something?

I get your frustration, and normally I'd agree with you, it's just, well. Time and place. A rec thread early in the post would definitely be better, so I say make the thread! But honestly, like I said, these are things I've talked about here a lot. Every time I mention them people say "I remembered you talking about that! Still haven't gotten into it." And that's fine. I'm just a little tired of it. The way I see it, I've done my part, people know about these things, and if I keep trying to push it I'll just get annoying. I'm just gonna keep doing my thing and just be a little lonely. And thanks but organizing a fest is so not something I have the time or drive to do.

I think I will make that thread tomorrow. If you feel like ning your series in it, that would be great! If not, then no worries.

Oh yeah, that can be quite a bit of a bummer. I'm sorry to hear that, anon. I've never organized a fest, but I expect it would be a bit of a hassle. If only there was a way to plant a seed about a fanwork exchange in your fandom and have someone who has the time and energy to set it up.
