Re: Does anyone else only feel fat when they're trying to lose weight?
I have not exercised since my daughter was born almost a year ago. Now that this terribly stressful semester is over, I am ready to start exercising again, and I started yesterday. Two days in a row, whoooooo!
Here's what I am going to do. I am going to swim every day if possible and also do some walking around the track while my daughter practices for cross country.
I am not going to do much with diet. I have found that once I get into the groove of exercising regularly that my diet tends to regulate itself at least in part. I go to sleep earlier because I'm tired and I don't feel like eating as much junk. I will continue to drink the massive amounts of water I drink every day. My one thing as far as diet goes is that I am going to only drink one baby coke each morning and No More!
I find that when I start trying to diet, it's like part of my brain goes wacko and I feel like I need to eat more or I'm being deprived and I think about it constantly. dieting is so counter productive for me. I am healthy already; my BP and stuff is great. I am focusing on being strong and powerful instead of thinking of it as losing weight. which also helps me not obsess.
Good luck to you!!

Maybe eliminating just one caloric drink a day and doing that for a few weeks; then adding one other small thing and doing it for a few weeks before you make another change.
