Re: Does anyone else only feel fat when they're trying to lose weight?
I used to not like to think about my weight. I knew I was way out of shape but I still didn't realize how much. It can be a bit of a shock.
I want to lose 25 more pounds and I'll be at my “ideal” weight. (For me, anyway. I'll be considered healthy then, and I already feel much better about myself, so that's all I want.) I find that thinking about all the cute clothes I'll be able to wear and the energy I'll have keeps me in check. I've never lost this much weight, and I've never been this dedicated, and tbh most of it is just how much better I feel since losing the weight. I got tired SO easily before, and while I might not be running any 5K marathons anytime soon, I feel like a different person. It's amazing how much more I can do now.
Maybe think of it like that? Not only will you be healthier, but the energy you'll have will be incredible.
As for tips, for me I get up early and excercise. As long as you excercise I don't think it matters when, but for me (And I'm not a morning person, tbh) I'm more likely to do it if I get it out of the way first thing in the morning. If I wait until the evening I lose motivation because I'm tired. Doing it in the morning actually makes me feel a bit more energized and gives me a nice sense of, “Hey, you accomplished something”. It's a good way to start off a day.
Other than that.. Drink lots of water, especially after working out, and then having a bottle of water an hour or so before meals makes it so you aren't as hungry. If you decide to calorie count it might be good if you plan ahead? Don't know if it would work with you, it doesn't with everyone, but for me I find it useful. I'll decide what to eat the next day before I go to bed so there's no scrambling to find something that fits my plan. It also takes the pressure off finding something to eat, and makes it less likely that you'll splurge on something you don't need. (Or, alternatively, that you CAN splurge on what you want, and not have to fret about it because you're still getting the amount of calories you want.)
