I'm like that a bit - I think it's that once you say 'I'm losing weight' there's suddenly a thinner you that you're comparing yourself to.

I usually overcome it by not thinking about numbers on the scale or appearance so much, and just concentrating on making healthier choices, one choice at a time. And I remund myself that this isn't just for a few months, this is for forever so I can be healrhy for the rest of my life. And when you're thinking big like that bodily imperfections start seeming so much less important.

Exactly - and the whole: "man, I never should have let it get this far". I think it's mostly because I do not see myself as a fat person, generally. Like, I know I am on a rational level, but I don't see myself that way.
