People will probably hate me for this but on How I met your Mother, Barney's adoptive brother is a black, gay man. He doesn't appear that often, though.

True Blood has this gay black guy named ... eh, Lafayette? I never watched it, though, so I don't know much about him.

What's wrong with Barney's brother?

London Falling by Paul Cornell. I discovered it thanks to feotakahari and boy, is it marvellous. It has two black main characters, of which one is gay.

As to the story itself, it's dark (and I mean really bloody dark) urban fantasy that, for once, has actual intelligent plots and does NOT have a snarky protag. I do recommend reading it.

OH SNAP sign me up. (I love urban fantasy and I generally like sarcastic protagonists but they all blur together after awhile, so I'm always looking out for something different)

Orange is the New Black has Sophia, a black transwoman, and Suzanne. The Color Purple. I want to say The World Unseen, but now I think about it they are Indian South African. Possibly Sugar Rush, but it's only the one time for that particular character.

Tv shows: Dexter's boyfriend in Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad had Gus

I just spent a solid minute trying to remember who aside from David was gay in Six Feet Under and called Dexter. I didn't watch Dexter, obviously.

There's a background character in the one-shot Love my Life. The focus is on a young Japanese lesbian; towards the end her best friend (gay, male) get a boyfriend--an Afro-American exchange.

Rg Veda has Sohma who's Ambiguously Brown and very on love with her queen. Alas, being an early CLAMP manga, things go downhill in the end...

Anthy from Utena is dark skinned, but I don't know her race or if her race is even established. I guess she's not exactly gay, just in love with whoever is currently the (insert something to do with roses), which is generally Utena.

Can't remember his name, but one of the main guys on the USA show Sirens.

Diana from White Collar is lesbian.

In The Will of the Empress by Tamora Pierce, Daja learns that she's a lesbian. She's not African-American, since it's a fantasy world, but she is black.

Clarice, Ginger and Jezanna from Dykes To Watch Out For are all black and interesting, likeable characters who are not at all stereotyped.

The TV series Noah's Arc focuses on a group of black gay friends, I believe.
