I watched part of the video & I've spent, frankly, way too much time on /r9k/ in the past arguing with people over this shit

It's definitely a poisonous, wrong ideology. But I think it's something somewhat distinct from MRA, and I don't think it starts at talking about alpha males and sluts. I think that's usually an explanation for why you're so lonely and alienated and unhappy, an ideology that develops as an emotional defense - one that's poisonous and wrong and that can be all-consuming, especially if you hang out on the wrong parts of the Internet (as this guy apparently did). It's entitlement in some sense, but an entitlement that develops out of an attempt to foist responsibility for your life onto someone else.

And again let me reiterate that this person was a bad human being and that nothing about what he did was acceptable; this is in no way a defense of him. I don't think his fundamental problem is that he was anti-feminist, is all.

I never mentioned Feminism. I said his video was like every male entitlement cliche brought to life, which it is. He felt women owed him sex, he felt that they deserved to die because they didn't sleep with him, and that was the 'greatest injustice that won't go unpunished'. Seriously, this train of thought didn't just magic itself out of nowhere.

um, maybe not, but this guy is also, most probably, totally nuts. I seriously doubt he went on an MRA forum or whatever, as a totally rational human being, and through the poisonous patriarchy decided women were inferior creatures who owed him sex and deserved to die.

while I don't disagree with what you're saying - his video is certainly all of those cliches. the way you framed your post is kinda meh though

gogsake, it was both. He was seriously mentally ill, and the entitlement culture perpetuated among certain groups of men probably didn't help. In fact it's quite possible that he just latched onto that as the Thing that he expressed his insanity over - it could have as easily been something else.
