Awww! Watch and I'll watch with you, it looks good to me (to be fair, it's my first exposure to Outlander). Any reasons why you're not excited?

The novels are basically fanfic written by someone who's been extremely rude about fanfic (OMG it's just like white slavery!!!) - and she's quite upfront that she didn't do much research before writing the first one, at least, so it's very Generic Hollywood Scotland. Actually I don't think the series is going to be aired in the UK, possibly because people would point and mock bigtime.

The visuals look very pretty, I'll grant you...

Yeah, the white slavery comparison (also I think she also compared it to pedophillia) pissed me off. The fact that this whole thing started because one of her fans wanted to write a fic for a charity auction for a cancer patient and one of Gabaldon's ardent defenders posted said cancer patient's personal information on one of the blog posts surrounding the issue (long since deleted, for good reason), just turned me off to anything by her, ever.
