Re: The California Shootings
disturbed in the head or not, he was encouraged by male misogynists to maintain his outlook - on sex, on women, on the "alpha male" stereotype. they enabled him by agreeing with him. and even now after all that's said and done, most of those same people are excusing - even applauding - his actions. check the comments on the youtube video. it's comment after comment of entitled pissbaby manchildren going "well maybe if women put out this wouldn't have happened," or "hey at least he took some with him," or "what a hero."
this isn't a matter of him being "crazy," even if there may have been some discordance in his brain. this is a man who was fed misogynist bullshit, who believed in misogynist bullshit, who was egged on and agreed with and thus he felt, among many things, justified to take and destroy the lives of many around him, all because he felt entitled to women's bodies because he thought he'd done everything right to attract girls - despite the fact that women are not some puzzle to be solved or prize to be won. he believed in alphas and betas, in being owed sex, and when he was denied that through his own faults and shortcomings, he told himself that the issue was not himself, it was everyone around him, and in response he opted to murder innocent people.
but the kicker here is that he's not alone. more and more of these instances are coming to light, where spurned entitled white boys make the news for MURDERING girls and women and other people. again check the video's responses. check the websites he frequented, the places that bred this wrong way of thinking in him. he isn't even close to being alone. this is a widespread mindset that is growing more and more dangerous by the day. how many more people have to be murdered or assaulted before people stop writing these cases off as just loneliness that went south, or just troubled guys needing an outreach?
the problem isn't spawned from their loneliness or their unfulfilled desires. it comes from the fact that men like this inherently hate women, to the point where they are willing to see these women suffer in the worst way simply because they can't - and i can't imagine why /sarcasm - find someone willing to have sex with them. and this isn't an exception to the rule anymore. it's becoming this cultural frontal assault on people who were never to blame.
i understand you think he was still in the wrong but he literally straight up said that he was going to murder women because they continuously rejected his advances. he told us his reason, and yet people still seem so insistent on avoiding that. on finding some other deeper reason where there is none.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-25 05:59 am (UTC)(link)and god, i'm sick of people excusing this asshole, or trying to pin the blame on mental illness. the vast, VAST majority of mentally ill people are more a danger to ourselves than to others.
it's disingenous and misleading to draw attention away from his ideology that dehumanized other people. THAT is what allowed him to murder without remorse.
