Butter and blackberry jelly, or blueberry jelly.

Or toast the bread, add butter, add cinnamon and sugar and place under broiler in oven until the sugar begins to bubble and melt. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn, eat carefully because it's very hot.

I also like to have unbuttered toast with my spaghetti.

Also, the oven broiler is very good for toasting a whole pie plate of marshmallows all at once.

My mom used to do the toast or the marshmallows for us when we were kids. Ah, nostalgia. I think I need to make some cinnamon toast.
