If I have to pick my favourite Discworld books, it comes out Nightwatch, Reaper Man, Small Gods, Interesting Times and Carpe Jugulum. They have this thing about choosing your fate, about standing up for things even when it's scary, about the reasons people fight and the things they fight for, about how small things matter so much even on the hugest of scales. I always come back to those five.

I am so made up to find someone else who likes Carpe Jugulum, I've seen so many people slate it. I love it.

AYRT

I adore Carpe Jugulum. For reasons of a) Mightily Oats, b) Agnes/Perdita, and c) you've been Weatherwaxed. I love the themes in the Witch books about uncovering the source of self inside someone, like Magrat in Lords and Ladies, and CJ is so good for that. I like the echo from Small Gods as well, that faith is what you make it, and that people are as/more important. Granny & Mightily having philosophical discussions are probably one of my favourite parts of the book.
