What kind of relationship? I need some context?

Is it the obvious two friendly dudes and a baby, or is there a deeper significance I'm missing?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Not OP, but I would guess deeper significance. The days when friends went to the wire for each other (and became found family when everything went to hell, in the case of the Titans), family was important, and stories had genuinely happy endings.

But perhaps I am projecting.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I miss those things, too.

I hear that :(

OP here

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
you got it exactly right, anon, projection or no!

I miss that too. Stuff like that is what used to make me love DC

Not sure if you mean Roy and Dick, or Roy and Lian, or all three -- but whichever, I also miss stuff like that.

...And now I feel like pulling out my old Nomad & Bucky comics, dammit.

OP

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
More the general idea of what that trio symbolized, but I would have gladly taken a maxi series with just the three of Lian, Roy and Unca Nightwing.:)

Dick/Redheads 4eva

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
He did have quite the stable.

I always wanted someone to write a Dick/Roy/Babs fix

:(

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
This is why the first 6 months of the MCU made me cry. Then I gave up on it.

ALL of it is gone. No more rallying around Tim when he finally admits he's not OK. No more following your friend into the thick of it because he asked (and because he needs help). No more artist saving the world with Disneyesque characters.

No more Kon realizing that family is what you make of it (God, that final issue before the nu52 broke my heart in the best way possible).

Nope. Doom, gloom, misery and sadism. I don't read anymore, but I swear Dick is bleeding on at least 50% of the Nightwing covers.

Same anon! (cause I'm an idiot)

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
...Nu52, no MCU. MCU makes me happy!

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
And per DC's new edict, nobody can ever be married or be in a happy relationship. Ever.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Because apparently that's not dramatic enough.

Or something. :(

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
What does that say about the personal lives and attitudes toward relationships that the people who came up with that rule have? Yeesh!

I have no idea what this fandom is but I can already tell guy on the left is full of shit.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
He really, really isn't. And wasn't.

Of course, about 20 years after the era shown here, the writers decided to murder his little daughter to give him manpain and so he became a basketcase, which was disgusting. But then she got wiped from existence in Flaspoint, so it's all good!

And you would be wrong!

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
No, he's not. The man on the left is a deeply flawed man who actually pulled it together extraordinarily well when he realized he had a child and became a single father/superhero.

He's one of my role-models, tbh.
intrigueing: (spider-fail)

Sorry no.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Nope.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-28 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
As others have said, nope.

Now…a lot of time in his life BEFORE this moment? Yeah. After this moment, only occasionally, and he was always trying.

I totally agree OP
