Ugh, I'm so sick of all the use of orbs when referring to eyes. Not to mention all of the decriptors for them being things like sapphire or emerald instread of blue or green.

Also, I hate that when fic refers to character as the American or wherever they come from repeatedly. Or as you stated in your post, by their hair color. Referring to them as the blonde, brunette, or god forbid, the raven-haired. Hell, some fic forgets the -haired part, so I will be sitting there imagining their hair is a bird So fucking annoying.

I've never seen that, thank god. Funny thing though, I've seen a character named Bluette. Granted, they're from a visual novel, but still. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard about her.
